There is a growing public fascination with cones, evidenced by the vast amount of cone merchandise available today. Much of the current "Cone Mania" was fueled by the popular"Krazy Kone" public service announcements. These commercials informed and captivated millions, and did much to change the image of the modern cone. Although some scientists are concerned about the "Teddybearification" of traffic cones, most are delighted by the publicity it brings to preservation efforts.
