A conversation with Dylan Martis
If there is any animated character I believe I embody in my day to day life it would be Tom from Tom and Jerry.
I think the emphasis UCLA has on not conforming to any one style, look, or medium has helped me tremendously in my academic experience. Whether it's traditional animation, stop motion, 3D, or motion graphics.
The rise of AI, and the devaluing/"contentification" of art are some of the biggest problems facing artists today. UCLA perhaps more than any other institution focuses on the motto of "One person One film." This emphasis makes one's film a very thoughtful and personal journey, the antithesis of the modern content factories in some universities.
My first year project "The Way Down" is a film I am very proud to have completed at the UCLA Animation Workshop!
