Stephanie James is a Los Angeles artist who primarily works in stop motion animation. Her roles have varied from puppet fabrication, to puppet department coordinator, stage support, and puppet wrangling. With her love of miniatures she has also ventured into the realm of live action and toy commercials as a scale model maker, art department fabricator, and in a couple of rare instances, as a dinosaur toy puppeteer.  Other creative ventures have included visual merchandise display and live action puppet building.

Stephanie has taught workshops in conjunction with Bob Baker Marionette Theater and is lecturer at UCLA where she teaches the Animation Seminar.

Her background is in sculptural work, installation, and fiber sculpture. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from California College of the Arts and completed her Masters studies in Animation at UCLA.
