UCLA Festival of Animation
The UCLA Animation Festival is an all-inclusive, annual event for our graduate and undergraduate animators to showcase their finished films. From 3D to traditional hand-drawn, stop motion to interactive, all facets of the medium are explored by MFA Animation students.
Additionally, our students select an inspiring recipient of the Crystal Anvil Award to honor their contributions in the field of animation.
Student Awards will also be honored in this event for the films with the Best Story, Best Animation, Best Art Direction, Most Innovative, and Best of Show.
Falling Lizard
Participating Lizards from past and present gather together for a weekend of animating! Friday evening is spent brainstorming the theme of an animated short film, while Saturday and Sunday are spent animating with friends and food. Across the weekend, students and alumni convene at the workshop and collaborate on a themed exquisite-corpse style short film comprising several parts. The final film is screened at a later date.
Summer Beach Party
Annual Welcome Beach Party for our UCLA Animation family. Alumni and MFA students are invited to a community beach house with swimming, beach volleyball, cafe and more fun!
Immerse yourself in the splendor of the Pacific Ocean as you join our animators at our celebration before the school year! Invitations are sent to our UCLA students and alumni before Fall Quarter.
